Do you find that your employees constantly want praise and recognition from you as a manager? And do you find yourself thinking that your employees demand just a little too much? Or that you'd rather spend your energy focusing on improvement points and learning?
Our experience in Feedwork shows two things in relation to appreciative feedback:
- That we as managers aren't good enough at recognizing our employees - and when we do, it's not of a high enough quality. This can leave employees feeling like they don't get enough recognition - which can make them feel demanding.
- Managers focus far more on developmental feedback in organizations than appreciative feedback. It's as if we can take recognizing our employees (or colleagues) a bit for granted.
Shouldn't we do something about it? We think so!
In this webinar, we focus on the importance of appreciative feedback - and how we can increase the quality of it. So we avoid throwing around empty appreciative phrases like "Good job", "Thanks for a great day" or "Thanks for a constructive meeting". Instead, let's exchange real, meaningful appreciative feedback that creates or maintains motivation and job satisfaction - and leads to high performance.
