A strong relationship with your customers is crucial for success and profit, especially when customers become ambassadors.

Jimmy Riberholdt is the founder of the Customer Embassy. From here, he advises companies on how to make it easy for employees to build good relationships with their customers. Throughout his career, Jimmy has worked in sales, both as a salesperson, manager and trainer in several different industries.

What exactly is a customer?

According to Jimmy, the definition of a customer is very broad. He doesn't believe that you should look at a customer as an exchange, as most companies do. He explains that he sees customers as partners and as equals. Put yourself in the shoes of the recipient, he says. He puts a lot of emphasis on the human relationships between him and his customers, as he believes that "people act on the basis of relationships". It's through relationships that profits are made, and they can be crucial to your success as a business owner.

Customer vs. ambassador

Jimmy explains that it's always easier to get customers through existing customers than bringing in new ones - but how do you do that? If you make it easy for your customer to buy your product, and if you give your customer a little extra, the relationship is strengthened and you can move them from satisfied customer to ambassador. In addition, you also need to give something of yourself, because that way the customer feels more connected to you and your business, which ultimately builds trust.

The bottom line is that as a salesperson, you need to build relationships with your customers in order to lead your business to success.

How to boost mental health in the workplace

Mental health is a crucial aspect of any workplace - and life in general - and fortunately, in recent years, there has been an increased focus on this aspect. However, mental health and wellbeing is not something that can be taken for granted and is crucial to both the quality of life of the individual and the performance of the business. So, it's no longer enough to ensure that employees are simply present in the workplace - it's important that they are happy and mentally well.
