Increased well-being and personal development through better feedback

How a sub-department of the Psychiatry Department of the Capital Region got a good start on improving their feedback culture

Kick-off workshop, as part of improving the feedback culture

The Secretariat and Communication Department (SKA) had decided at the beginning of 2019 to improve their internal feedback culture, and had therefore developed a plan for how to integrate it in the department, starting with a test period, and then evaluating what has worked and not worked during the test period. The overall aim of working with feedback for SKA is to increase well-being and personal development.

SKA contacted Feedwork in connection with the kick-off of this initiative and needed Feedwork's help to increase motivation to engage in feedback dialogues, as well as to develop the level of competence in the form of concrete tools for use during the test period.

A good start to working with feedback

At the kick-off workshop, SKA marked the start of the feedback initiative in the department, created increased awareness and consciousness around the daily communication, and not least created a good starting point for further work with feedback in the department.

"Danni and Jonas from Feedwork gave my department an energetic and very motivating start to our work on strengthening our common feedback culture. The workshop gave us the collective 'push' we needed. We took home a handful of useful tools and concepts, and we have agreed on the occasions for feedback that we will work on together in the department and in the individual teams over the next six months. One thing that Danni and Jonas gave me as a manager was an awareness that I need to be clear and specific about what I want to give or ask for feedback on. It sounds simple, but it's actually not that easy."
